Radon test kits we recommend
A radon test kit is the cheapest way to find out whether your home has a radon problem. Short-term charcoal kits sit in the lowest livable level for 2–7 days, then you mail the canister to a lab for results; long-term alpha-track detectors run 90 days to a year for a truer annual average. The EPA recommends acting at 4 pCi/L and considering a fix between 2 and 4. Charcoal kits are ideal for a fast first reading or a real-estate transaction; alpha-track is better for confirming a borderline result. Look for kits with the lab fee included so there are no surprise charges.
