About InspectandTest

InspectandTest is an independent editorial site for homeowners, buyers, and sellers who want plain-language guidance on home inspection topics — radon, mold, asbestos and lead, the inspection toolkit, and how to hire an inspector who actually catches what matters. We publish guides and reviews; we are not affiliated with any inspection service company, and we do not perform inspections ourselves.

What we do

We research and publish independent guidance on home-inspection-adjacent topics. Our editorial process synthesizes guidance from federal agencies (EPA, CDC, OSHA, HUD), industry standards bodies (ASHI, InterNACHI, IICRC, AARST, NRPP), and documented consumer feedback into articles a homeowner can actually use to make a decision. We disclose what we have and have not tested directly. We cite our sources. We update articles when guidance or pricing changes meaningfully. Read our full methodology.

What we do not do

We do not perform inspections, remediation, or abatement work ourselves. For Front Range Colorado homeowners ready to hire, we maintain a vetted partner network of local inspectors and connect homeowners with a partner serving their county — there is no charge for the connection. For homeowners outside Colorado, our guides are written to help you vet inspectors in your own market.

Where we serve

Our editorial coverage is national; our local-inspector connection service is Front Range Colorado, covering Denver, Douglas, Elbert, Arapahoe, Jefferson, El Paso, Adams, Boulder, and Broomfield counties.

An important note about this domain

The inspectandtest.net domain has a long history. From 2010 to 2025 it was operated by Inspection & Testing Services LLC, an unaffiliated Colorado company that previously held the domain. InspectandTest.net under our editorial team is independent of that prior operation. Any credentials, certifications, or business relationships referenced in archived versions of this site (Wayback Machine and similar) belonged to the prior occupant and do not transfer to us. We hold no professional inspection credentials and do not represent ourselves as licensed inspectors, abatement contractors, or industrial hygienists.

Editorial independence

When we recommend a product or a service category, we do so based on documented evidence and our own analysis. We do not accept payment in exchange for favorable coverage. When affiliate relationships are active (currently none — see our affiliate disclosure), we disclose them on the article and at site-wide footer level.
