What we collect
InspectandTest collects two categories of information about visitors to this site.
Automatically collected, anonymous: when you visit any page, our hosting and analytics tools record standard server log information (IP address, browser, referrer, page accessed, timestamp). We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Search Console (via the Site Kit plugin) to measure traffic and search performance. GA4 anonymizes IP addresses by default. We do not combine this analytics data with personal identifiers.
Voluntarily provided: when you submit a lead-gen form, contact us by email, or otherwise reach out, you provide information (name, email, phone, ZIP code, project notes). We use that information to respond, to route lead-gen requests to partner inspectors as you have requested, and to keep records of correspondence.
How we use information
We use voluntarily provided information for the purpose you submitted it for: responding to inquiries, routing inspection lead-gen requests to local partner inspectors, and editorial correspondence. We use anonymous analytics data to improve the site, identify content gaps, and verify performance.
We do not sell your information. Specifically, we do not sell, rent, or trade personally identifiable information to third parties. We do share lead-gen form submissions with partner inspectors when that is the explicit purpose of the submission — that is the service the form provides — but we do not aggregate, repackage, or sell submission data outside that direct purpose.
Cookies
This site uses cookies for essential site functionality and for analytics. Essential cookies (session management, form submissions) are required for the site to function. Analytics cookies are set by Google Analytics; you can opt out of GA tracking by installing the official Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by configuring your browser to block third-party cookies.
Third-party services
We use the following third-party services that may collect information independently:
- Google Analytics 4 / Google Search Console — analytics and search performance.
- Cloudflare — content delivery and security; collects IP-level traffic data for fraud and abuse prevention.
- 20i — our hosting provider; standard server logs.
- Email service providers (Postmark/SendGrid/Amazon SES) — transactional email delivery for form responses and partner notifications.
Each of these services has its own privacy policy; we recommend reviewing those if you have specific concerns.
Your rights
If you are a California resident under the CCPA or California Privacy Rights Act, an EU resident under GDPR, or a resident of any other jurisdiction with similar privacy legislation, you have rights to access, correct, or delete information we hold about you. To exercise those rights, email us via the contact page with the request and we will respond within the timeframe required by your jurisdiction’s law.
Children’s privacy
This site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through our site, contact us and we will delete it.
Updates to this policy
We update this policy when our practices change. Material changes are noted with an updated date at the top. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
