Affiliate Disclosure

Current affiliate status

InspectandTest is currently not actively monetizing through affiliate relationships. We have made a deliberate decision to build the editorial foundation of this site before activating any affiliate or sponsorship monetization. This page exists now so that the disclosure framework is in place when monetization begins, and so readers know exactly what to expect.

When affiliate relationships activate, this page will be updated and a clear disclosure will appear at the top of every monetized article and at the site-wide footer level.

Planned affiliate relationships

The following affiliate programs are likely to be active when monetization begins:

  • Amazon Associates. Recommendations of products available on Amazon (radon detectors, mold test kits, thermal imaging cameras, moisture meters, inspection tools) may include affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, InspectandTest will earn from qualifying purchases.
  • Direct affiliate programs (via Impact, ShareASale, CJ Affiliate, or direct manufacturer programs): AirThings, Corentium, FLIR, Klein Tools, Home Depot, Lowe’s, and other product manufacturers and retailers in the home inspection product space.
  • Lead-gen referral fees from local inspector partners in our Front Range Colorado service area. Partner inspectors pay a per-lead fee to receive routed homeowner inquiries; this is the standard cost-per-lead model used by all home services lead-gen platforms. The fee is paid by the partner, not the homeowner, and does not affect homeowner pricing.

When a link on this site is an affiliate link, clicking it and making a purchase generates a commission to InspectandTest at no additional cost to you. We will mark links clearly with the appropriate rel attributes (sponsored, nofollow) so search engines and assistive technology can identify them.

Editorial independence from affiliate revenue

Our recommendations are not for sale. We do not accept payment in exchange for favorable coverage, and we do not skew product recommendations based on which manufacturer pays the highest affiliate commission. Where two products are functionally equivalent, we may surface the one with affiliate availability for purchase convenience — but where one product is meaningfully better than another for a given use case, we say so regardless of which one we earn commission from.

We also do not write content for the sole purpose of inserting affiliate links. Pure-info articles (how-to guides, regulatory explainers, methodology pages) do not carry affiliate links even when monetization is active.

FTC compliance

This site complies with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s Endorsement Guides, which require clear and conspicuous disclosure of material connections between an endorser and the products or services they endorse. When affiliate relationships are active, every monetized article will carry an above-fold disclosure stating that we may earn commission from links on the page. This is required by FTC rules and we treat it as a non-optional editorial discipline.

Lead-gen compliance

When the lead-gen form on our site is active, the form will clearly state that information submitted is forwarded to partner inspectors. We treat homeowner contact information as exclusive to the homeowner’s intent: we do not sell, repackage, or share lead-gen submissions outside the explicit routing service. Our privacy policy describes this in more detail.
