Amana Refrigerator Water Filter: Which One Fits (2026)
Choosing an Amana refrigerator water filter is harder than it should be. Amana is a Whirlpool-family brand, and its genuine filters are sold as everydrop cartridges, but Amana fridges have used several different cartridge shapes over the years. On today’s Amazon shelf, the Amana-specific listings point mainly to two: the push-in everydrop Filter 1 (part W10295370A) and the older UKF8001, now everydrop Filter 4. A third, twist-lock cartridge is sold for some of the same model numbers, and the listings disagree with each other on that point. This guide sorts out which filter the listings tie to which Amana models, flags where they conflict, and explains what the certification claims actually cover.

How we compared: we compared 12 current Amazon listings for Amana fridge filters, one genuine everydrop cartridge and eleven third-party compatibles, on what each listing actually states: filter type, part numbers replaced, Amana models named, NSF standards named and service life. We did not lab-test any of these filters or install them hands-on. Prices and availability change often, so check the current listing before buying.

Which filter fits your fridge
The table uses only what the 12 listings state. Most Amana model numbers on the shelf come from third-party sellers, so they are claims to verify, not guarantees. Heights come from listing product data and may include packaging.
| Filter model | Style (per listing) | Replaces these part numbers (per listings) | Fits these Amana models (as listings name them) |
|---|---|---|---|
| everydrop Filter 1, EDR1RXD1 (W10295370A) | Push-in; purple; about 8.7 in | W10295370A, W10295370, EDR1RXD1B, WHR1RXD1, KAD1RXD1, W10276924, W10291030, Kenmore 46-9081 and 46-9930, P4RFKB2, P8RFWB2L, P8RFKB2L | ASI2575GRS, ASI2575GRW, ASI2575GRB, ASI2175GRS, ASI2275FRS, ASD2575BRW, ASD2275BRW and ASD2575BRW01, per two compatible listings |
| everydrop Filter 4, EDR4RXD1 (UKF8001) | Not stated on this shelf | UKF8001, UKF8001AXX, UKF8001P, 4396395, EDR4RXD1B, EDR4RXD2, Kenmore 46-9006 | AFI2538AES, AFD2535DES, ABD2233DES and ARSE66MBW, per four single-model listings; “Amana Filter 4” fridges, per Waterdrop |
| PeliCori PCL-07 (sold as ASI2575GRS / MSS25C4MGZ filter) | Twist and lock; about 6.9 in | Not stated beyond the title | ASI2575GRS, ASI2575GRB, ASI2575GRW, ASI2175GRS; also Maytag MFW2055FRZ, MSC21C6MFZ, MRSF4036PZ |
Look at the first and third rows together. Two compatible listings, ramco and BHTCD, tie the ASI2575 and ASD2575 Amanas to the W10295370A cartridge, which everydrop sells as push-in Filter 1. PeliCori sells a twist-and-lock cartridge for the same ASI2575GRS model numbers. Both cannot be the right shape for the same housing, and the listings give no way to tell which is correct. That conflict is exactly why the cartridge in your fridge, not a seller’s model list, is the deciding evidence.
The safe sequence: pull the current cartridge and note how it came out (pushed straight or twisted) and the number printed on it. Then find the fridge’s model and serial label, usually on an interior side wall of the fresh-food section near the top or behind the crisper drawers, and check the owner’s manual or the manufacturer’s parts lookup for that exact model. None of the listings says where the filter sits in a given Amana. For the full numbering system, see our everydrop water filter guide.
Genuine vs compatible
The single genuine listing, everydrop Filter 1, names NSF/ANSI 42, 53 and 401 and lists Amana among the brands it is the official filter for. It is the only listing of the 12 that names 53 or 401. Among the eleven compatibles, six name NSF 42 in some form, three of those also name 372, and five name no NSF standard at all (ramco and the four Upstart listings).
- NSF/ANSI 42: aesthetic effects, mainly chlorine taste and odor and particulates.
- NSF/ANSI 53: health contaminants such as lead and cysts. The EPA’s lead-filter consumer tool says to look for certification against both 53 and 42.
- NSF/ANSI 401: emerging contaminants such as some pharmaceuticals.
- NSF/ANSI 372: lead-free materials in the filter itself; not a lead-reduction claim.
The wording on this shelf varies widely. PeliCori says it is NSF 42 and 372 “compliant for materials and structural integrity,” a narrower claim than certified chlorine reduction. Homenjoy says its effect is “verified under” NSF/ANSI 42 and it was “tested against” 372. BHTCD says it is NSF 42 certified to remove 99% of lead, but lead reduction is not part of Standard 42, so that line does not hold up as written. The CDC suggests checking a product’s label and the NSF database to see what it is actually certified to remove.
everydrop’s listing warns that non-genuine filters may damage the refrigerator. None of the listings describes a chip or sensor that blocks third-party cartridges.
The 5 picks, compared listing by listing

everydrop EDR1RXD1 — Filter 1 (W10295370A), push-in, NSF 42/53/401, 70 contaminants, 6 months or 200 gal
The Only Listing on the Amana Shelf That Names NSF 53 and 401
Eleven of the 12 listings are third-party. This is the only genuine cartridge and the only one naming the health-related standard 53 and the emerging-contaminant standard 401. For an Amana that takes Filter 1, it is the one option here with a certification profile beyond taste and odor.
The Filter 1 cross-reference matters for Amana owners because several compatible listings sell “W10295370A” cartridges for ASI2575 and ASD2575 models. W10295370A is the part number compatible listings treat as everydrop Filter 1, so if your old cartridge says W10295370A, this is its genuine successor.
The listing does not name any Amana model numbers, so it cannot settle the ASI2575 conflict described above. If your current cartridge twists out instead of pulling straight, stop and check the manual before ordering.
Pros
- Only genuine Amana-family filter here
- Names NSF 42, 53 and 401
- Clear 6-month or 200-gallon interval
Cons

- Single pack only

Waterdrop WD-F07 — UKF8001 / Filter 4 compatible, NSF 42 + 372, 300 gal or 6 months, lifetime warranty, 3-pack
The Only UKF8001 Listing on the Shelf That Names an NSF Standard
Five listings on this shelf are UKF8001-type cartridges: this one and four Upstart Battery listings. The Upstart listings say only that they replace UKF8001 and name no certification. This Waterdrop names NSF 42 for taste and odor and NSF 372 for lead-free materials, and it is the only one of the five that names “Amana Refrigerator Water Filter 4” and Amana’s own UKF8001P part number.
The UKF8001 family is the older Amana cartridge, now everydrop Filter 4. No genuine Filter 4 appeared in this Amana search, but it exists; our Maytag refrigerator water filter guide covers the genuine Filter 4 and the wider UKF8001 shelf.
The listing’s heavy-metal and VOC language describes third-party lab testing, not certification, and it does not name Amana model numbers.
Pros
- Names Amana Filter 4 and UKF8001P
- NSF 42 and 372 named
- Lifetime warranty plus defect returns
Cons
- No NSF 53 or 401
- No Amana model numbers named
- Heavy-metal claims are tested, not certified

ramco W10295370A type — Filter 1 style, 30-plus Amana models named, no NSF standard named, 6 months or 200 gal, 3-pack
The Longest List of Amana Model Numbers on the Shelf
ramco names more than 30 Amana model numbers, counting suffix variants, across the ASI2575, ASI2175, ASI2275, ASD2575 and ASD2275 series. No other listing comes close for Amana; PeliCori names four Amana models and BHTCD one. If you are trying to match a side-by-side Amana to a cartridge type, this list is the most detailed starting point.
What it says about type matters. ramco presents the cartridge as an EDR1RXD1 and W10295370A replacement, which points these models toward everydrop Filter 1. BHTCD agrees for ASD2575BRW01. PeliCori disagrees with a twist-lock design for ASI2575GRS. Use the cartridge in your fridge as the tiebreaker.
The weakness is certification. The listing names no NSF standard, and its “53+ pollutants” phrase is a count, not NSF Standard 53. It describes 21 performance tests per batch but does not say who runs them.
Pros
- Most detailed Amana model list here
- 2-year warranty stated
- Three-pack with change-date sticker
Cons
- No NSF standard named
- Model list conflicts with another seller
- Listed dimensions look like packaging data

PeliCori PCL-07 — twist-lock, NSF 42/372 materials compliance, 0.5 micron, 6 months or 200 gal, Amana and Maytag models, 3-pack
The Only Twist-Lock Cartridge on the Amana Shelf
PeliCori is the only listing of the 12 that describes a twist-and-lock design. Every other Amana-specific listing either sells a W10295370A-type cartridge or a UKF8001 replacement, and the genuine Filter 1 is push-in. If your Amana’s cartridge twists out and its model is one PeliCori names, this is the closest match on the shelf.
It is also the only listing naming both Amana and Maytag fridge models, which fits the shared Whirlpool-family hardware. The certification wording is the catch: NSF 42 and 372 “compliant for materials and structural integrity” describes the housing and materials, not a certified chlorine-reduction result.
Its model list overlaps ramco’s, which sells a different cartridge type for ASI2575GRS. One of them is wrong for at least some of those fridges. Do not order either for an ASI2575 until you have seen how your current cartridge comes out.
Pros
- Only twist-lock option for Amana here
- Names Amana and Maytag models
- Three-pack with stickers
Cons
- NSF wording covers materials, not performance
- Model list conflicts with ramco and BHTCD
- Does not name the original part it replaces

Upstart Battery AFI2538AES — UKF8001 replacement, 2-pack, no certification, life or size stated
One of Four Listings Sold Under a Single Amana Model Number
Upstart Battery has four listings on this shelf, each titled for one Amana refrigerator: AFI2538AES, AFD2535DES, ABD2233DES and ARSE66MBW. All four say only that they replace the UKF8001 filter. That one fact is useful: it places those older Amana models in the UKF8001 (Filter 4) family rather than the W10295370A family.
Everything else is missing. The listing names no NSF standard, no contaminant claims, no service life and no dimensions, which makes it the thinnest listing among our picks. It is here because the model-number title is the most direct fit statement on the shelf for those Amanas. A buyer who wants certification for the same UKF8001 slot should look at pick 2 instead.
Pros
- Titled for a specific Amana model
- Clearly states UKF8001 replacement
- Two-pack
Cons
- No NSF standard named
- No service life or size stated
- No contaminant claims to compare

Push-in, twist-lock and the UKF8001 shape
Three cartridge types appear on this shelf for Amana fridges, and the way your current one comes out is the fastest clue. everydrop Filter 1 is push-in; PeliCori’s PCL-07 is twist-and-lock; the UKF8001 family is its own shape, sold under Filter 4. If the printed number has faded, removal style plus length, about 8.7 inches listed for Filter 1 against about 6.9 for PeliCori, narrows it down.
Two other compatibles worth knowing about: Homenjoy and HMASAV both sell Filter 1 (W10295370A) cartridges without naming Amana models, and BHTCD sells a W10295370A-type cartridge for ASD2575BRW01 with Kenmore and KitchenAid cross-references. A cartridge that will not seat with normal hand pressure is the wrong one; forcing it risks cracking the housing.
Replacement interval and the indicator light
Where a listing states an interval, it is six months, with 200 gallons for the Filter 1 types and PeliCori and 300 gallons for the Waterdrop UKF8001. The Upstart and BHTCD listings state no interval. Change at whichever limit comes first. The fridge’s filter light is a timer, not a water-quality sensor; none of these listings describes a sensor. Reset it after each swap following the manual.
The CDC advises changing filters on the manufacturer’s schedule so they keep working and do not grow germs, wearing gloves during the change and washing your hands afterward. It also advises people with weakened immune systems not to change filters themselves.
What an Amana fridge filter can and cannot fix
These are carbon cartridges. The CDC notes most fridge filters are not designed to remove germs and typically use carbon to improve taste or reduce heavy metals like lead, and its guidance on home treatment systems says to check a system’s label for the specific contaminants it removes. The EPA notes that lead pipes are more likely in homes built before 1986 and that brass faucets and lead solder are common sources. If lead is a concern, look for a filter certified to NSF 53 and see our guide to filters for lead in water.
An unknown filter history is common when a Front Range home changes hands. A fresh, correct cartridge is cheap insurance; a stained floor in front of the fridge or a brittle supply line behind it is a reason for a closer look.
Installing the filter and when to call a pro
The listings describe tool-free installation. Waterdrop and HMASAV recommend flushing a few gallons through the dispenser on first use to clear air and prevent sputtering; BHTCD’s “flush 300 gallons before first use” line looks like a listing error, so follow your manual instead. Keep a towel under the housing and check for drips over the next day.
If the housing leaks with the correct cartridge fully seated, the housing or supply connection needs a technician. Buying a Front Range home with an older Amana, water stains in front of it or an untested well? Reach out through our contact page to connect with a vetted local inspector.

Frequently asked questions
What water filter does an Amana refrigerator use?
It depends on the model. The listings tie many ASI and ASD side-by-sides to the W10295370A cartridge, sold genuine as everydrop Filter 1, and older models such as AFI2538AES to UKF8001, now everydrop Filter 4. Read the number on your current cartridge and confirm with the owner's manual.
Is the Amana ASI2575GRS filter push-in or twist-lock?
The listings disagree. Two compatibles sell a W10295370A-type cartridge for ASI2575 models, while another sells a twist-and-lock cartridge for the same model numbers. Check how your current cartridge comes out and confirm against the manual before ordering.
Is everydrop the genuine Amana filter?
Yes. The everydrop Filter 1 listing names Amana among the brands everydrop is the official filter for, alongside Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid and JennAir. Genuine everydrop filters are numbered, so match the number on your cartridge.
Are compatible Amana filters as good as genuine?
Not on the stated certifications. Only the genuine everydrop listing here names NSF 53 and 401. Compatibles name NSF 42, sometimes with 372 for lead-free materials, or no standard at all.
How often should I replace an Amana refrigerator water filter?
Listings that give an interval say six months, with 200 or 300 gallons as the volume limit. Change at whichever comes first. The indicator light counts time, not water quality, so reset it after each change.
