What 1978 lead paint actually refers to

The phrase “1978 lead paint” is shorthand for the cutoff date between regulated and unregulated U.S. residential paint. If the seller has no knowledge of lead-based paint conditions in the property β€” which is common β€” the disclosure form simply documents that lack of knowledge, along with confirmation that the pamphlet was distributed and the 10-day testing opportunity was offered.

HUD Lead Safe Housing Rule for federally assisted housing
